MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) has named Glen L. Kettering to the new role of senior vice president of Corporate Affairs, effective March 1. Kettering, currently president, Pipelines, will assume leadership of the corporation's Investor Relations, Communications and Federal Government Affairs functions.
"In this new role, Glen, who will report directly to me, will spearhead our efforts to enhance clarity, consistency and internal and external transparency in all our stakeholder communications," Skaggs said. "In particular, Glen's strong leadership experience and knowledge of our industry will be invaluable in helping provide a comprehensive view of NiSource's growth platform for the investment community and other key audiences."
Kettering's new position replaces two existing executive positions held by Barbara S. McKay, vice president, Communications, who has accepted a new position outside the company; and Dennis E. Senchak, vice president of Investor Relations, assistant treasurer and assistant secretary, who is retiring. The consolidation of the two previous roles is part of a corporate streamlining effort that began last year as a component of one of NiSource's key initiatives, process and cost management.
Kettering joined NiSource's natural gas pipeline and storage subsidiary Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. in 1979 as an attorney. He progressed through a variety of professional and leadership roles in Legal, Rates, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing before becoming president of Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission Co. in 2000.
